Discover Vietnam Through Your Lens

Embark on a 9-day, 8-night photographic expedition into the authentic heart of Vietnam—where timeless traditions meet breathtaking landscapes.

This journey is not just a tour; it is a visual narrative carefully crafted for passionate photographers seeking authentic encounters, cultural depth, and extraordinary light. From the vibrant craft villages of the North to the poetic reflections of Central Vietnam, we invite you to capture the soul of this country.

The Journey: Where Tradition Meets Landscape

Our itinerary is designed to chase the best light, from the blue hour of dawn to the golden hour of dusk. Here is what awaits your shutter.

1. The Northern Highlands: Patterns of Nature

The North offers a masterclass in texture and scale. We venture toward the rolling tea hills of Long Cốc, often referred to as “Halong Bay on land.” Here, we capture the mystical atmosphere at sunrise, as the mist weaves through the surreal, bowl-shaped hills.

Further up, the majestic terraced rice fields of Mù Cang Chải await. You will capture the vast golden slopes carved by generations of H’mong farmers—a testament to human harmony with nature. We also explore authentic ethnic villages and vibrant craft villages, capturing the vivid colors of local life.

2. The Central Coast: Heritage and Reflection

In Central Vietnam, the focus shifts to history, water, and light. We capture the daily rhythm of fishermen casting their nets on the Thu Bồn River—a scene that looks like a living painting.

In Hội An, we immerse ourselves in lantern-lit nights, practicing low-light photography amidst ancient yellow walls. In the imperial city of Huế, we focus on poetic reflections on the Như Ý River, capturing the quiet dignity of a bygone era.

What to Bring: Essential Gear & Preparation

To ensure you capture the best possible images, here is our recommended packing list for this expedition.

Camera Gear

  • Body & Support: A DSLR or Mirrorless camera with a sturdy tripod and a remote shutter release (essential for long exposures and low-light scenes).
  • Wide Angle Lens: (e.g., Nikkor 14-24mm or Canon 17-40mm). The best lens for wide scenic shots, rice terraces, and architecture.
  • Mid-Range Zoom: (e.g., 24-70mm). Perfect for environmental portraits and street photography in craft villages.
  • Telephoto Zoom: (e.g., 70-200mm). One of the most important lenses for this tour. It allows you to compress the layers of the Long Coc tea hills and isolate subjects in the rice fields. Tip: Be sure to have an additional tripod mount ring for this lens.
  • Drone: Vietnam is spectacular from the air.
    • Rental Option: You can hire a drone in Vietnam (approx. $40 USD/day for a DJI Mavic 2 Pro).
    • Support: During the tour, you will be supported by a leader experienced in operating drones to ensure safe flight paths and best angles.

Clothing (Wear)
The weather in the mountains can be unpredictable. Prepare for cooler nights (average +10°C to +20°C).

  • Outer Layer: Waterproof and windproof jacket.
  • Bottoms: Waterproof pants (essential for misty mornings) and thermal pants.
  • Warmth: Warm jacket/fleece.
  • Footwear: Wellingtons (rubber boots) or fishing boots are highly recommended for muddy fields and riverbanks.
  • Casual: Comfortable clothes for dinners, lunches, and photography workshops.
