Arrival in Luang Prabang
Upon arrival, you will receive a warm welcome to Luang Prabang, the ancient capital of the Lane Xang Kingdom and a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its stunning temples. Transfer to your hotel with your English-speaking guide and driver for check-in. The rest of the day is at your leisure. Overnight in Luang Prabang.
Luang Prabang – Pak Ou Caves (B/L)
An early start provides a fantastic opportunity to participate in the daily morning alms-giving ritual of saffron-clad monks. This unique Laotian tradition is a profound spiritual experience. Afterward, explore the vibrant morning market to see local food and goods on display. Return to the hotel for breakfast. In the afternoon, travel by boat up the Mekong River to the Pak Ou Caves. These limestone caverns are home to thousands of Buddha statues left by devotees over centuries. Later, enjoy a city tour visiting Wat Sene, the magnificent Wat Xieng Thong with its impressive “tree of life” mosaic, and the historic stupa of Wat Visoun. Overnight in Luang Prabang.
Luang Prabang – Kuang Si Waterfall (B/L)
After breakfast, visit the National Museum at the former Royal Palace and Heuan Chan, a traditional heritage house, to experience the local lifestyle of Luang Prabang. In the early afternoon, drive south to the picturesque Kuang Si Waterfall. Take a leisurely hike through the national park, visit the Asian Bear Rescue Center, or climb to the top of the main falls for a panoramic view. You can enjoy a refreshing swim in the turquoise pools (Note: water temperatures are quite cool from November to January). Overnight in Luang Prabang.
Luang Prabang – Express Train to Vang Vieng – Nam Song River (B/L)
After breakfast, transfer to the station for a high-speed train to Vang Vieng. Once a quiet town, it has developed into a popular destination while maintaining its spectacular scenery of tranquil waters and ancient limestone outcrops. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel for check-in. Later, enjoy a scenic boat ride along the Nam Song River to admire the stunning karst formations and the peaceful countryside. Overnight in Vang Vieng.
Vang Vieng – Tham Chang Cave – Blue Lagoon 3 – Vientiane (B/L)
After breakfast, visit Tham Chang (Jang) Cave, which historically served as a refuge for locals. Enjoy the view of crystal-clear water flowing from the mountain and the charming surrounding rice fields. Continue to the famous Blue Lagoon 3 for relaxing and swimming. Vientiane City Tour – Buddha Park (B/L)
Morning visit to Wat Si Muang, a temple famous for its spiritual power. Next, drive to Buddha Park (Xieng Khuan), a unique collection of over 200 Buddhist and Hindu sculptures on the banks of the Mekong. In the afternoon, visit the city's landmarks: Wat Sisaket (the oldest temple with thousands of tiny statues), Wat Prakeo (former home of the Emerald Buddha), and the sacred That Luang Stupa. Vientiane – Flight to Pakse – Bolaven Plateau (B/L)
Transfer to Vientiane airport for a short flight to Pakse. Upon arrival, head to the Bolaven Plateau, a fertile region famous for its high-quality tea and coffee. Visit the Sinouk Coffee plantation, admire the majestic Tad Yuang waterfall, and visit local ethnic minority villages to learn about their unique cultures. Overnight in Pakse.
Champasak – Wat Phou – Don Khong (B/L)
After breakfast, drive to Wat Phou, a UNESCO World Heritage site. This spectacular pre-Angkorian temple complex is built on three levels, stretching from the water reservoirs up to the mountain sanctuary. Continue through the charming French colonial streets of Champasak toward Khong Island, the largest island in the "4,000 Islands" (Siphandon) region, where the Mekong River reaches its widest point. Overnight on Khong Island.
Don Khong – Li Phi Waterfall – Pakse (B/L)
Explore the surrounding countryside before boarding a long-tail boat to the Don Khone area. Visit the remains of the French colonial period and the thunderous Li Phi Waterfall (the "Corridor of the Devil"). After returning to the mainland at Ban Nakasang, drive south to visit Khone Phapheng, the largest waterfall in Southeast Asia—an impressive sight near the Cambodian border. Return to Pakse in the late afternoon. Overnight in Pakse.
